Disorders or pain in the pelvis and pelvic girdle can be embarrassing and socially isolating for women, men, and children of all ages. Fortunately, Amanda and Leslie provide compassionate and highly specialized treatment in quiet, private rooms, to help you return to your desired level of functioning!
Dr. Amanda Moe and Dr. Leslie Guier specialize in physical therapy techniques to assess and treat disorders of the pelvis and pelvic girdle including bowel and bladder dysfunction, abdominal or pelvic girdle pain, pre- or post-partum musculoskeletal conditions, sexual dysfunction, and pediatric pelvic conditions (to name a few). Specifically, Amanda and Leslie look at the muscles of the pelvic girdle to determine if they are weak, tight, painful, in spasm, and have proper coordination to determine their effect on your symptoms. Amanda and Leslie also assess how you breathe, your posture, and looks at how you move throughout the day to determine their effect on your symptoms.
Pelvic treatment is highly specific to each patient and may include pelvic floor relaxation and/or strengthening exercises, core muscle & breathing coordination exercises, manual techniques for trigger points or myofascial restrictions, postural training, behavioral training on toilet habits/hygiene/hydration, coordination training of the pelvic floor and pelvic girdle musculature, internal or external biofeedback/e-stim, and occasional use of modalities for pain control.
